Eigashima Shuzo, the Akashi drinks house founded in 1679, brews the sake Kamitaka and makes shochu, wine and whisky. Its distilling history runs deep — a dedicated spirits plant was completed in 1919 for its Shiratama shochu — and today it makes barley shochus such as Yamatodamashii. Tours cover both the sake kura and the whisky distillery.
