Miyazaki Honten, founded in 1846, is famous nationwide for Kinmiya Shochu — the korui shochu that fuels the hoppy and chuhai culture of Tokyo's old downtown. Brewed on Suzuka mountain subsoil water, the house also makes cask-aged barley shochu with consecutive Monde Selection Grand Golds, and holds seventeen straight years of golds at the world liquor competition.
