Amami Shurui was established in 1965 as the joint bottling and sales company of five Tokunoshima distilleries — Kamezawa, Amakawa, Takaoka, Nakamura and Matsunaga — blending their spirits into its Amami kokuto shochu. The group also distils Rurikakesu Rum from island sugarcane.
