Kuncho Shuzo, founded in 1932, brews inside the preserved merchant quarter of Mameda-machi in Hita — a nationally designated historic district. Its five kura buildings survive as they were, the oldest raised in 1702; sake, shochu and amazake flow from them, with the Kuncho Shukan shop open daily 9:00–16:30.
