Chatan Choro Shuzo began in 1848 as Tamanaha Shuzo in the royal quarter of Shuri, moved to Chatan in 1910, restarted after the war and incorporated under its present name in 2006 — more than 170 years of awamori, and the only distillery in Chatan. Long-aged kusu at 25 and 43 degrees flank the standard.
