Since 1948 — 伊平屋村, Okinawa
Iheya Shuzosho was founded in 1948 as a cooperative of 23 islanders and remains the only distillery on Iheya Island. Its flagship Terushima takes its name from the island's legend of the sun goddess Amaterasu, distilled full and rich — rice-sweet with a gentle roast — on mountain spring water and the island air.
