Since 1948 — 宮古島市, Okinawa
Miyanohana, founded in 1948 on Irabu Island, takes its name from its founder's wish: to remain a flower blooming quietly in people's hearts, however small. Much of its team, from the president down, is women, and since 2006 the house has also brewed awamori from naturally farmed Japanese rice — no fertiliser, no pesticide.
