宮之鶴
Since 1948 — 石垣市, Okinawa
Nakama Shuzosho, founded in 1948 by farmer Giichi Nakama in Ishigaki's Miyara district, is the smallest distillery in Okinawa. The family makes just one awamori — Miyanotsuru — and only as much as is ordered, steaming rice in a wooden kushichi and distilling in a direct-kettle still as they always have.
