Tokuyama Shuzo was founded in 1946 by Tomoaki Tokuyama of Irabu Island. A farmer himself, he named his awamori Honen — abundant harvest — as a prayer for the island's fields. Mineral-rich Irabu groundwater gives the spirit its bright, fresh aroma.
