Uehara Shuzo, founded in 1947, is Itoman's oldest awamori house. Its Shinsen — divine spring — thanks the Nbuga, the sacred spring behind the kura that has never run dry, and the house pioneered its own electronic technique for a mellow, deep pour. Silent from 2015, the stills came back to life in 2021; the premium bottling took gold at the 2022 awamori appraisal.
