Yamakawa Shuzo, founded in 1946, is Motobu's only awamori distillery and is known simply as the kusu Yamakawa — a house given to aged awamori, brewed on spring water from the Yanbaru hills. Visitors can even taste a twenty-year kusu at the distillery.
