Zuisen Shuzo, founded in 1887 in Sakiyama — one of the royal brewing quarters of Shuri Sanka — takes its name from the Zuisen spring at Shuri Castle's Zuisenmon gate. It holds the record at the official awamori appraisal: 24 Okinawa governor's prizes as of 2020. Its labels still read Sakumoto no Sake, and the house shares family roots with Sakimoto Shuzo up the hill.
