TERROIR HUB SHOCHU

EST. 1869

渕田酒造本店

一勝地

Since 1869 — 球磨村, Kumamoto

Fuchita Shuzo Honten began in 1869 as the Kazaemon Chaya of founder Kazaemon Fuchita, moving to its present site in 1908 when the Hisatsu rail line came through. Everything from koji to washing and mashing is done by hand, with twenty clay pots lining the kura — the furthest downstream of all Kuma shochu houses. Its oak-aged Isshochi borrows the auspicious name of a village whose characters read 'a place of victory'.
