Kuge Honten was founded in 1860 when the lord Inaba Akimichi granted the family a brewing house. Aiming at sake and shochu with character that fits the local table, it switched all ingredients to Oita-grown — especially Usuki-grown — from 2021, a circular kura in a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. Tours by reservation for up to thirty.
