Since 1912 — 石垣市, Okinawa
Tamanaha Shuzosho, founded in 1912 as a branch of a Shuri house, is the oldest distillery in the Yaeyama islands, past its centenary in 2012. Nearly everything — koji, mash, distillation — is done by hand, with old koji and direct-kettle stills, brewing Tama no Tsuyu as awamori meant from the start to age into kusu.
