福鶴

Since 1688 — 平戸市, Nagasaki

Fukuda Shuzo, founded in 1688 in Hirado and purveyor to the Hirado domain, is the westernmost brewery on Japan's main islands. Beside its sake Fukutsuru it distils shochu with names straight from Hirado's trading-port history — Jagatara Oharu, for the exiled girl of the Jakarta letters, and Kapitan, for the Dutch traders' chief.
