Oshima Shuzo was founded in 1985 as a third-sector venture of Saikai city, the farm and fishery cooperatives and private partners, to bring life to the island town. It grows its own red sweet potatoes from planting to harvest, brews by hand — and in 2018 raised a new kura with modern equipment. Brandy-cask-aged barley shochu and first-run bottlings colour the range.
